A few weeks ago, I had the absolute honor of being featured on TVJ Smile Jamaica for their Girl Power Tuesday segment, where I shared my journey of Crocheting Confidence After 50. What a moment that was! But honestly? The days and weeks that followed have been even more incredible.
Since the interview aired, I have been blown away by the love, the messages, and most of all the new customers who reached out, ready to step into their confidence and rock my custom crochet swimwear.
Let me tell you, I have been smiling ever since.

From TV Screen to My Crochet Hook: A Full-Circle Moment
There is something so powerful about sharing your story publicly, especially one that’s rooted in self-reinvention, creativity, and confidence in midlife. What I didn’t expect was just how many women would see themselves in me.
Women have messaged me saying, “I felt like you were talking to me.” Others shared how they have been waiting to wear something bold, something beautiful, something that makes them feel alive again. Men have messaged me about gift ideas for their loved ones.
And just like that, my little crochet corner got brighter. I welcomed new clients, started new projects, and poured all that gratitude right back into my yarn.
This week’s creations were custom orders from a male who ordered them as a surprise gift for his wife. I took great pride and made them with extra love, as this was my first order from a male in all my 30+ years of crocheting, and the meaning behind his why made it even more special. so please let it reflect that by changing the following blog post section:
This Week’s Creations: Swimwear Sets That Celebrate Love

This week, I had the absolute joy of creating two beautiful bralette and shorts sets as a surprise gift from a husband to his wife. Yes, you read that right. For the first time in my 30+ years of crocheting, I received a custom order from a man, and let me tell you… It moved me deeply.
He saw the interview, connected with the message, and reached out with the most thoughtful intention: to gift his wife something bold, unique, and handmade with love. His reason? Because he sees her, he admires her, and he wants her to feel as beautiful and confident as she truly is.
I poured my heart into these sets. From the curve-hugging shorts to the delicate detailing on the bralettes, every stitch was made with extra love, gratitude, and pride. Not just because it was a first, but because the meaning behind this order reminded me exactly why I do what I do.
This wasn’t just about crochet. It was about celebrating a woman through the eyes of someone who loves her deeply. And that, to me, is the essence of everything I stand for.
Why This Means So Much to Me
To everyone who has watched the interview, sent kind messages, shared words of encouragement, or placed an order, thank you from the depths of my heart. The weeks after have been a whirlwind of emotion. I have felt seen, celebrated, and uplifted in ways I never expected. And while I’ve been crocheting for over three decades, there’s something incredibly special about being acknowledged in this season of life, not just as a creator, but as a woman boldly living her truth over 50.
Every DM, every comment, every order has reminded me that what I do matters. That my story matters. It has also reminded me that it’s never too late to become the woman you were always meant to be. This moment isn’t just about crochet, it’s about purpose. About stepping into the light with confidence and reminding other women that reinvention has no age limit. That it’s okay to start again, to shine brighter, to embrace your creativity and femininity with no apologies.
So, thank you. Thank you for seeing me. For supporting me. For being part of this movement where we celebrate growth, confidence, and the power of starting fresh at any age. The love I have received since the interview isn’t something I take lightly. It’s something I carry with deep gratitude and a renewed sense of purpose.
